Neiman Marcus Limited Edition Fighter

Neiman Marcus is known more for its retail stores and is hardly a name synonymous with motorcycles. It comes as a surprise then that they are responsible for the most expensive luxury motorcycle in the world thanks to its Limited Edition Fighter. When the Fighter was released it had a starting price of an already high $110,000.

Following the news of the Limited Edition BMW 7 Series, the luxury store is now coming up with a new product us mortals can drool over. It's got just 2 wheels, but what it lacks in shear weight it makes up for it in style.

Take a look at the Limited-Edition Fighter Motorcycle, which is made of half dangerous and half sexy with a dash of cool sprinkled on top. The presentation picture is all sorts of cool with a dude dressed in a tuxedo with a dark biker helmet sitting by the rugged beast.

The starting price is $110,000, which makes this bike one of the most expensive 2-wheel vehicles out there. While it looks like something taken out of a comic book strip, the fact that it's a limited edition series and only 45 will be made like that.

You can see the model in the winter catalogue for Neiman Marcus so hurry and grab yours today. To give you a quote from the “brochure”: “it's an evolution of the machine, at once taken back down to its core elements while being reinvented and re-engineered for optimal performance. It's our street-legal sci-fi dream come to life, in the form of the limited-edition Fighter Motorcycle.”

This baby can get to a speed of 190 mph with its ultra light carbon fiber frame, mixed with aluminum and titanium. A custom braking system, lots of high-tech gadgets and of course the Neiman Marcus “official pimping

The Fighter would end up on auction for $11 million with a very unique body that some say resembles the inside of a watch. The Fighter was able to reach speeds of 190 miles per hour, and only 45 of them were made in this limited edition. It was marketed as an “…evolution of the machine” that was reengineered for optimal performance, its creator said “It’s our street-legal sci-fi dream come to life.” For as much as the Fighter costs you may as well consider it a dream, and while this piece of science fiction is completely street legal, you might not want to take it out for a spin with that price tag.

Not sure what to get that motorcycle fan who has everything? How about something that's never been available before. Joining the first 31 BMW 7 Series models for 2009 in the Neiman Marcus Christmas book are 45 Limited-Edition Confederate Fighter motorcycles. The basic premise of the bike is similar in principle to the rest of the brand's wares, but the details really make this one stand out. Like the Wraith, the Confederate Fighter uses a girder-style front suspension made up of titanium, aluminum and carbon fiber bits and a 120ci 45-degree air-cooled V-Twin. From there, things diverge rather rapidly, with the Wraith's carbon fiber monocoque chassis being replaced with a backbone unit made from titanium connected to front and rear bulkheads cut from solid chunks of billet aluminum. Confederate claims a top speed of 190 miles per hour, but that may be just a tad optimistic considering that a prepped Wraith managed a land-speed record of just a tad over 166mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Still, this is one sweet bike that would be awesome to ride. Too bad about that $110,000 price tag. Thanks for the tip.
